Somebody's forgotten attic

I found this magazine clipping in a box of old stuff. It's about fifteen years old, and I love this room. It looks like someone's forgotten attic with the slanted ceilings, bare whitewashed boards, and stenciling on the walls. The dark wood vanity is draped with rumpled fabric and lace curtains are haphazardly tacked onto the windows. It's casual, quaint, and a little creepy. The look as a whole is a tad shabby chic for my tastes, but this room has good character. Maybe I'll do something similar in the new house.
